The setup includes multiple ports for connecting drives, but it doesn't automatically create nine separate drives. It depends on how you configure the system and whether you're using shared or individual connections.

There are only six SATA ports available. SATA express was an unusual connector typically seen on boards from the Z97 to Z370 range (perhaps slightly narrower than usual). It combined two SATA ports with an additional smaller port to create a PCIe Gen 3x2 interface. Since it wasn’t in use, it’s not applicable at all.
