It doesn't need a powerful processor, just because of cache issues and the poor IHS design means even a basic 4-pin EPS could work for a 7800X3D. Adding some 6000MHz RAM might help, though 6400 could be tricky out of the box. A 6000MHz RAM should handle it better, but I'm not sure if it will reach that speed. Cheaper 6000C36-40 chips are fine for performance, but if you plan to keep the RAM for a while, go with a 6000C32 instead. A die can exceed 8000MHz compared to the ~7200MHz tops of regular chips, so you won't need to replace the motherboard or RAM every few years—just overclock the RAM to match whatever Ryzen 9000 you install.
