I've heard concerns about Ryzen 3000 not working with your B350 MoBo. However, after checking the compatibility of your MSI B350M PRO-VDH and reviewing the list of supported CPUs, including some Athlon models, I found that it does support Ryzen CPUs. So, if you install a Ryzen 5 3600 in your B350M PRO-VDH, it should work fine.

It should function perfectly. If you're lucky with the 3600, you can also manage it easily. This board can handle 80-90WConfused smoothly unless you push it without proper case ventilation.

I also have case fans, but my hardware isn't getting hot even after a slight overclock, thanks!

Proceed with the BIOS update first.

B350 will run Zen 2 using a beta BIOS, meaning it will use the newest BIOS available on the motherboard.

Thanks for the reply, I’m considering the 3500 option because I discovered a better deal than the 3600.

$105 is what I see, but the price of the 3600 varies by location—somewhere else it’s $253, while a 3500 is available for just $105.
