I had a MSI-7525 motherboard and initially thought about replacing it with a new CPU, more RAM, and a graphics card. However, there were many constraints. It doesn’t support quad-core processors, only up to 4GB of RAM (with just 3.24GB actually usable), and the graphics card isn’t something I’m interested in. I was wondering if anyone knows another motherboard with similar parts but without the LGA775 socket. Ideally, I’d like to retain DDR2 or DDR3 support and have four slots instead of two.

Old DDR 2/DDR 3 models aren’t compatible with today’s processors; use DDR 4 instead.

It doesn't need a cutting-edge processor—any quad-core device will suffice

If you're avoiding LGA 775, consider switching to AMD or Intel. What other features would you like from those options?

What's your use case, is this for retro-gaming or do you just want any new PC? Your best bet if you specifically need a system with DDR 2/DDR 3 would probably be ebay or any other market that sells used systems.

It's always smart to pick a motherboard alongside the other parts, particularly the CPU. Did you think about what you wanted for that already? You might consider using an older LGA 1150 board with a 4th generation i5/i7 or similar. Alternatively, you could opt for a brand-new motherboard paired with a fully updated CPU and RAM, which may offer better performance for a slightly higher cost. Have you thought about your budget and how you plan to use this PC? The rest of your build is still pending—DDR2 technology is no longer practical today.

I don’t really like AMD, but an LGA775 setup would work. I just need a motherboard that supports multiple CPU cores and at least 8GB of RAM.

Top CPUs for DDR3 include the 4th generation Intel chips. LGA 1150 is a good fit. Starting with an i5-4450 on H81, B85, or H87 boards works well. Z87/97 models are expensive, so think about them only if you're an overclocking fanatic.

You're looking for a new PC that can handle gaming and other tasks. That sounds like a solid choice!

It isn't a good choice. x58/1366 offers solid performance with a good mix of quad and hexa cores.
