Never used Windows 7, but I did on Windows 8 after installing an SSD. I prefer to begin with a brand-new installation.

Occasionally Every few months because my files aren’t installed yet, I have separate storage for games—my hard drive and SSD stay untouched. This lets me keep everything smooth and fast without spending time fixing things, and I can restore everything in just an hour or two with a fresh setup!
