I just installed fresh RAM and my system only works with the previous one. My old machine was a 2x8 HyperX 2666MHz, now I have a 2x8 Corsair RGB Pro 2666MHz. The specs are all upgrading, but it’s not showing up properly. The old PC started but nothing appears in the PC manager. The new RAM is brand new—what could be causing this issue?

It seems you're asking about CMOS in the context of getting your PC recognized by BIOS, especially since your monitor doesn't display anything. This usually relates to ensuring your system's settings are saved before powering off.

Reset the CMOS by connecting two pins on the motherboard, refer to the manual for pin placement. Usually found on the bottom right side of the board.

It's unclear what exactly needs resetting, whether it's the BIOS firmware or something else.

If it doesn't work, consider trying an alternative approach.

We'll reach our destination once we arrive, since it's probably not compatible if it fails

You're keeping the original Kingston RAM and added two Corsair units, bringing the count to four. Have you considered swapping out the entire old RAM for the new ones in the same locations?
