With my Ryzen 5 3600 it boosts to 4.2, but the turbo only uses one core. If I upgrade it to 4.2 or 4.3, will all six cores run at that speed continuously? Or will they still idle but still reach that level without boosting? I have plenty of questions and think watching a Linux tutorial would help xD.

For Ryzen processors, avoid overclocking right away—they’re built to run at maximum performance from the start. Just turn on PBO and you’re good to go. The era of easily boosting a GPU to 700 MHz is behind us; it’s simpler now.

Just enable PBO and finish the setup? The game boost feature is there too—your motherboard has a button that promises to boost the clock speed by about 600 MHz, potentially reaching 4.2 GHz.

It's simply not worthwhile since PBO will attempt to force it as much as possible without any user input.

I noticed the voltage in the bios was 1.37V, but others suggest staying under 1.35V. I adjusted the offset to 42 and lowered the voltage to 1.275V, which should help keep things cooler.

Base clock remains commonly referred to as the "front side bus" even when a new CPU enhances performance by raising the multiplier. A 3600 could achieve around 4.4GHz across all cores with a static overclock near 1.35v.

It depends on the setup—your setup keeps the clock steady as long as the voltage stays within safe limits. Using 4.2 seems to maintain stability, and since it doesn’t drop below 4196, the core locks should remain intact. As long as the voltage is appropriate, it shouldn’t harm the lifespan.

As long as the signal to keep the clock steady stays within a normal range and your temperatures remain manageable, it's completely fine.

And yeah to clarify, it won't boost with PBO disabled. It will stay at the static clock.
