I aim to surpass Linus in performance... This largely depends on your CPU model. For chips in the Core2 series, you'll need a minimum of four cores or a quad-core processor. With newer CPUs, two cores are usually enough. Keep in mind that certain games may not run properly if the cores aren't powerful enough or if there aren't enough cores overall. This tends to apply to most games since 2014.

You can't rely on core counts for performance needs, an i5 4460 delivers the same frame rate in games as the FX 9590, while the latter boasts "8 cores"

It refers to powerful cores, not weak ones. The outcome really hinges on the overall setup.

Are you serious about this? Only a handful of titles run smoothly on two cores, while a strong i5 performs much better.

Last time Linus made a comparable clip a few years ago, he achieved the same outcome—BF3 refused to play.

Please review the message thoroughly. I mentioned strong cores earlier.
