What kind of cooler are you setting up? If it really needs removal, you’ll have to locate a standard CPU socket so you can reattach the bracket plate. In theory, if the cooler is firmly gripping the CPU, it might be fine—but I haven’t tried that before. Try using a hair dryer to heat the bracket and board, then gently release it; this reduces the risk of misalignment and damage if something slips.
