Hello there. I hope the specialists on this platform can assist you in selecting a new laptop or guide you to the best options. I currently own an ASUS UX360CA from 2016, equipped with 8GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD. It has served me well over the years and still functions perfectly—EXCEPT for the hinges that have broken. This is disappointing since they prevent the laptop from staying open at an optimal angle while working. I’ve managed to improvise a clamshell cover so I can keep using it during the search for something new.

1. What is your budget?
$600-1400, preferably under $1000
2. What size notebook are you looking at?
13-15 inches. I currently have a 13-inch one.
3. What resolution do you prefer?
1080p
4. Are you seeking a portable or desktop replacement?
portable
5. How important is battery life to you?
It would be great if it could last all day.
6. Would you like to play games with your laptop? If yes, please list the titles and the settings you prefer (Low, Medium or High).
no
7. What other activities do you plan to perform on your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, etc.)
surfing, office work, simple tasks
8. How much storage capacity do you require?
I already have 512 MB and it suits me well.
9. If you’re thinking of specific websites to purchase from, please share their links.
10. How long do you intend to keep your laptop?
Minimum 5 years
11. What type of optical drive are you interested in? (DVD ROM/Writer, Bluray ROM/Writer, etc.)
Not essential since I already have a portable unit.
12. Could you tell us which brands you prefer and which ones you dislike, along with your reasons?
I’m open to various brands. My ASUS has been reliable; my previous Acer model broke down quickly due to poor construction, so I’m not keen on them.
13. What country do you reside in?
US
14. Any further details you’d like to share?
Because the hinges on my current laptop failed, I’m not interested in another 360 model. I prefer a traditional, older-style laptop. I might look into a 3:2 display, though it tends to be costly.
Thanks ahead for your assistance!

Have you thought about swapping the hinge components?
Ebay offers many options at varying prices. ASUS direct is similarly priced, around $40 each.

AMD APU details available at the specified link.
Intel i5 specifications found on the provided page.
13" Intel processor information accessible via the URL.
Intel i7 model data can be viewed from the same source.
Your needs are quite wide-ranging, and these options will be much faster than your previous laptop's CPU. They were originally built to prioritize extended battery use and ease of transport.
The latest equivalent from Lenovo is suggested.

Thank you for your response, Eximo. Although I worked on my previous Acer laptop, the repair guide for swapping the hinges on the Asus seems quite challenging for me. Moreover, the micro HDMI port on the Asus is faulty, which makes me consider purchasing a new laptop instead.

Thanks for your response. I explored all the links to see them. However, every Dells model includes a number pad, which I definitely don't need. Since I never use one, it feels like an unnecessary space. The Lenovo looks promising, and I'll check newegg as well. Perhaps I can locate Dells without a number pad...
