Hello, I'm looking for a budget router under $100 on Amazon. After checking, I found several options including Nighthawk R6700, Asus RT-ARCH17, Asus RT-AC66U, TP-Link Archer C9, and TP-Link Archer A7. Which one would you suggest? Your setup needs a 900ft space, VPN support, USB ports for external drives, and streaming capabilities. I'm open to recommendations from Linksys or DLink as well. Thanks!

The ASUS RT-AC66U_B1 uses two Broadcom CPUs while the RT-ACRH17 features four Qualcom CPUs. It benefits from custom firmware developed by Asuswrt-Merlin.

No, those TP-Link models are not inherently bad. Quality can vary by specific product and usage. Always check reviews and specifications before purchasing.

I installed the Archer C7 from TPlink; its firmware didn’t include all the advanced capabilities and refinements. Still, the router performed well overall and offered a solid connection range.

If you're considering Netgear models, opt for the R7000 over the R6700. The price gap is minimal (<$20), yet the R7000 offers a more reliable router. I don’t have much experience with the latest TP-Link or ASUS devices, but I’ve faced issues with older TP-Link routers from around 2010.
