I installed a new M.2 SSD in my ASUS Vivobook 14 and tried to boot, but the BIOS didn’t detect it. After updating the BIOS, Windows started from the HDD, and after installing GPT it worked. I also tried flashing Linux from a USB drive, which was recognized. However, the BIOS only sees one drive—Windows Boot Manager. If I install Linux on the SSD, will it still be detected?

Your phrasing seems unclear. It might relate to GRUB settings. When you enable Windows Boot Manager, you could be prompted to boot into GRUB before starting Windows. If you install Linux separately on the same drive, it should allow you to boot GRUB and run Linux. This depends on whether your laptop supports NVMe booting. I haven’t verified that yet.

It wouldn’t appear in the BIOS, so you had to format it. Understood. Installing Linux on the SSD generates an EFI Entry for Grub that shows up in your BIOS as a boot choice.
