Hi, I recently assembled my first PC and encountered random shutdowns while playing games, especially CS:GO online. A Windows memory test showed everything is fine. I ran another memory diagnostic today and shared the findings in HTML plus a screenshot for easier viewing. My planned replacement window ends tomorrow, so I’m considering whether to proceed or investigate further. Could there be problems with the motherboard or other components? I’m not sure at this point. Report: MemTest86-Report-20200211-171302.html
Your testing reveals numerous issues, so you might want to consider switching to a more stable system instead of relying on faulty RAM.
I would check each memory stick individually to determine if errors persist. Insert one stick at a time, run tests, and move it to the next slot if errors appear. If issues occur in any slot, the faulty stick is identified. If errors are confined to one slot, the problem may lie with that specific memory location. Continue testing with additional sticks until the source is found.
I'm planning to swap parts, which is odd because I didn't encounter any issues when testing each stick individually or in various slots. I also tried running tests without XMP enabled and got zero errors. In the second round with XMP active, I saw 27 errors, but maybe I missed something. I'll do one final test before making the change and share the outcome.
I'm updating with Thermaltake Tough RAM 16GB (2x8GB), 3200MHz. I was also thinking about the HyperX Fury 3200MHz. Since I only got single sticks of 8GB without a kit, and Thermaltake was faster, I wanted to know if running Memtest86 without XMP showed no errors in one pass—does that suggest the motherboard and CPU are working properly?
Installed the replacement, performed four passes on the new unit. No issues detected. Appreciate your assistance.
