Hello, I’m dealing with a recurring problem where my PC shuts down or shows a black screen when launching games or starting up. Occasionally it briefly displays a blue screen but usually restarts without issue. After checking the case and cables, it seems the connection is now very weak, making it harder to boot Windows. My system specs include an Intel i7-12700K, an Evga 3080 graphics card, ASUS TUF Z690 Plus with a D4 power supply, 32GB NVMe SSD, and Vengeance RAM. I’ve tried various RAM types, disconnected the GPU to use integrated graphics, installed Windows on a new NVMe drive, changed the BIOS, and even updated the BIOS. Despite these efforts, the issue keeps happening, leaving me frustrated and exhausted trying to resolve it.
Are you running at maximum performance? Ram 4*8 or 2*16? Have you tried 16GB and possibly swapped the slots? With IGPU do you still face similar issues? Did you re-seat and replug everything? Temperatures? Are the CPU pins bent? Check the diagnostic LEDs (disconnect only what’s needed). I suspect your motherboard isn’t the problem.

It’s the ASUS ai overclock configuration set to “normal.” I’m unsure if turning it off with two sticks of 16GB RAM in slots 2 and 4 is feasible. The total capacity is 32GB, but I removed my GPU and the issue persists. After reinstalling everything, temperatures stayed normal. I don’t see any signs of bent pins. It works well for months, yet someone suggested the cooler might be misaligning the CPU pins. I’ll check that later when I’m off work.
It’s working perfectly now, though it didn’t last long on the desktop. Not sure if that was the issue, but it’s functioning correctly. Appreciate the help!
