I've secured a new internet Gig1 Virgin broadband at 1130 Mbps. My Mac won't reach the full speed specifications; I'm planning to use Wi-Fi since Ethernet isn't an option. My device is a Retina 4K 21.5-inch, 2019 iMac with a 3.2 GHz 6-core Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, and 2667 MHz DDR4 memory. The Wi-Fi card type is 0x14E4 and 0x7BF. Should I be concerned? Or should I consider getting a compatible Wi-Fi adapter for my Mac?

Don't stress, everything is under control. Your device supports 802.11ac (WiFi 5), which provides sufficient speed.

I analyzed your current Wi-Fi setup before moving, and it looks like you should be okay.

Your iMac's internet connection should be faster than a USB Wi-Fi setup.

I checked my internet speed at my current home and will now test with the new broadband connection.

Even top-tier WiFi won't always deliver full Gigabit speeds. My connection often drops to 600-800Mbit in WiFi 6, especially when placed near the access point. In theory, it could handle twice that, but if you're not in the same room, the speed might be much lower. For maximum performance, using a wired Ethernet connection is the best option.

Of course. Whether you're leasing or prefer not to make any holes, it's definitely possible.
