Sorry about the forum style, I'm just starting out. I'm assembling a PC for my mom using an integrated graphics card. I also need the motherboard to support overclocking. For that, I picked the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with its Vega 8 graphics. I went with the Asus PRIME B450M-A/CSM Micro ATX AM4 board because it offers good upgrade options and overclocking potential. The parts store suggested I might need to update my BIOS to support an older CPU. Is this a real issue or just something to watch? Thanks for any advice!
Are you considering boosting the speed? The increased fan sound might be more noticeable than any gains you see. Updating the BIOS shouldn’t cause problems—she’ll likely value the extra two cores and eight additional threads on a 10400 chip more than improved integrated graphics.
