Hello! I’m not very familiar with computers, but I mostly work with RC equipment, so I understand the physical side well. However, I’m not very experienced with software. I usually notice slowdowns when multiple tabs are open, and overall performance feels quite low for my hardware. I think there might be something wrong, but I’d like to fix it and then check again later. My RAM is stuck at 1600 MB, which makes sense since it’s close to my limit. I tried changing the BIOS settings automatically and then manually setting it higher, but nothing improved much. My CPU is an Intel Core i9 with 3700 MHz, and the motherboard supports up to 5000 MHz. I’m using MSI Z590 with BIOS version 1.90. The system runs Windows 10 Home, and I’ve added extra RAM and upgraded the GPU, but speed only improved slightly—around 5 to 10 frames per second, sometimes not at all. I’m considering replacing the RAM if it doesn’t help, but since everything seems fine otherwise, I might just go with a new setup. Thanks for your help! Have a great day or night!
You found that frequency in a different source. Your setup uses DDR4 at 3200MHz, but with CPU-z it shows 1600MHz. DDR stands for Double Data Rate, meaning the RAM operates at 1600MHz while handling two data operations simultaneously. To avoid confusion, it's better to refer to MegaTransfers per second rather than Megahertz (3200 MT/s). Let me know if you need more clarity.
The BIOS indicates a speed of 3200, but I’m still unclear about the software side.
All appears to be functioning properly on that image. Your RAM is operating at the optimal speed and clock rates for the best XMP setting. Have a great day!
That seems like a different subject altogether. Could you clarify what you're referring to?
