You lost your Plex media drive by mistake.
I'm not sure what's going on... I have a 2TB USB 2 hard drive connected to a PC that runs Plex and contains all our media, including things not in iTunes Movies—like some obscure films and my old iTunes music library with over 45,000 songs from CDs I no longer have. I was thinking about backing it up recently, but that was before payday. It also holds TV shows, software installers, and other files. I tried making a Windows 10 bootable USB stick and accidentally selected the wrong drive. The drive used to have one partition, now it has three, with a few gigabytes of data for the Windows 10 installer. I'm hoping to recover some data but don't know where to begin. Anyone have a good starting point? Thanks!
Data recovery can be uncertain at times. If files were simply deleted, it wouldn't be extremely challenging, but because partitions and data were added over the deleted information, the situation shifts. You might try the Getdataback program; based on my experience, it should help retrieve your files. However, installing partitions and data onto the drive after the original data was removed causes new sectors to be filled with fresh information in the empty spots. When old files are recovered, they may either disappear completely or become partially recoverable, though the outcome often hinges on chance—sections filled with new data can vary. It’s best to boot into a portable OS environment such as WinPE and execute Getdataback using a flash drive.
