I don’t recall my Windows 10 password for my laptop. All the searches I’ve done so far haven’t worked. I don’t have a USB drive with me, and I also lack a physical disk. Pressing F8 to log in as admin didn’t help, and even typing Shift, Alt, Ctrl with every F key on the login screen didn’t produce any result. Is this a failure or is there another solution?

Yes, you can obtain a USB key. That would significantly simplify the second approach mentioned on MakeUseOf.
