Create a new account with the role "standard user". This replaces the default admin privileges. Make sure you have an existing admin account available for any required access.

I don't have personal preferences, but both Chrome and Firefox are popular choices. Which one do you find more useful?

Apologies for that. I prefer Chrome since FF's interface keeps shifting with each update, and it frustrates me.
