The Noctua NH-D15S runs efficiently with a single fan, which is sufficient. Early testing showed that adding a second fan only lowered temperatures by about 3-4 degrees. If you have room in the case, moving the fan up could help.

I have some modest Team Group t-create setups in my system—two 16 units at 3600 RPM, using just a spreader that matches the small spire cooler fan screw (about 1–2mm extra). It runs silently at 3600 with no manual effort on my R5 5600. I’m seeing it in two 32-unit configurations. It’s not especially budget-friendly, but if you require more than 64GB, you might want to look into a workstation platform.

I need to reset the system. With the 5950X, I was reaching 85°C without PBO on. Adding a second fan lowered the temperature to 75°C.

How many RAM modules are you setting up? For two, use only the top slots. Four RAM modules, then slightly increase your fan speed. This indicates that the low-profile RAM is fully explained. Low-profile means the standard height; all high-profile units will be significantly taller, while actual low-profile is roughly half the standard height. It's about matching the same height as the RAM clips. You can check Kingston for these options.

Consider raising the fan slightly for better airflow. Think about using a different case or tweaking the vents—maybe a simpler fix than replacing everything.

On the heatsink side, the VRM units reach similar heights as the RAM, leaving limited space. Interestingly, this CPU with the NH D15S performs noticeably cooler in Meshify 2 compared to the other model. The main distinction lies in the operating system, aside from the case design (Meshify C Mini). I’m seeing much better temperatures on the 5950X using just one fan inside Meshify 2, whereas the Meshify C Mini struggles with heat. I intend to install larger fans in the Meshify 2 case and monitor the temperatures closely to gauge performance.
