Hard drives and SATA SSDs need two cables. One carries power and the other handles data. To keep both drives working properly, you must use the correct setup—either separate cables or a single connector that combines power and data for convenience. I haven’t seen a single cable solution in person. Power : Data (different colors/styles)
Attached is an image of the hard drive bay followed by a screen showing both devices recognized. The data cable is secured with the black tape on the right of the p2 port. I’m not sure if connecting p3 and p2 was necessary for this to function.
Well you have 2 hard drives in there and something isn't adding up when you have a 500gb c drive and a 2tb other drive. So basically there is a 3rd drive in there aka the p3 drive that is doing nothing. Take it out and see what capacity it says on there. Maybe your acer actually did come with a smaller ssd and bigger hdd but the hdd got disconnected in shipping and because of the upgrade you fixed the issues accidentally. Either way that p3 drive is only getting power there is no way shape or form for it to transmit data.
The power cable is the sole connection you made to the top drive (P3), yet it clearly isn’t being detected by your computer. This situation is highly unusual. The power cable and data connection are distinct components. It appears you might be confusing which drives are being recognized.
