Can you try to retrieve the password for your Outlook.com account on a laptop that hasn’t been used much since last September? Also, would it be possible to switch to another account where you have access?
You can still proceed, but the process will redirect you to a new password. After that, you’ll need to provide details for Microsoft to regain access, which has already been requested twice. You’ve been denied before because of insufficient information. If you want to switch your Microsoft account on the laptop, you’ll need to follow the steps Microsoft provides there.
Without sounding daft, how? Ive sat for over an our and it wont allow me to use another account to login with.
The account you need to recover is essentially your Outlook email address. On another device, visit outlook.com, enter your email and select forget password. The quickest method is to input the backup email used to create that account. If the email you provided is correct, Microsoft will send a reset code to the field. Enter it and you’ll be able to set a new password. Once finished, return to the affected system and use your new password.
