Hi. Mobo: I built this rig using the 970 Evo and later swapped in the 980 Pro. I formatted the old drive for storage work, but noticed a quirky behavior—when I rebooted, I could pick which drive to boot from via Windows prompt, even though the 970 wasn’t detected in BIOS. Removing either drive left no signals, only the 980 showed up. It seems I might have missed a step in the setup or formatting process. What went wrong?

It seems I made a mistake with the MBR location. The original drive still has it, but I need to transfer it to the 980 drive now. I'm trying to determine if that's feasible.

This could be the answer you're looking for. Please note, I won't be held accountable. The thread discusses moving a boot sector to free up space for a new drive. You can find more details here: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/how-to-mov...ive.14678/
