This seems like a unique find. I received a Cisco C9410R from 2023, mostly untouched except for some minor scratches. I’m not sure its value or purpose, but it functions. It powered on and lit up nicely—anyone have any thoughts on what to do with it? It’s quite heavy at 121 pounds.
There ain't much you can do with it lol it's an aggregation switch and multiple 48 port switches. It's pricy, for sure! They are all managed switches I'm sure. But basically it doesn't do anything except route data and generate a ton of heat and noise. Looks like multiple redundant power supplies as well.
It contains inexpensive 1g modules, which means the whole switch is essentially just a single 1g module. I’d like to check the prices of the modules and PSUs to see if it’s worth taking apart. There’s really no purpose for this in a home setup—perhaps the supervisor card could be more valuable, but it only has one.
This type of equipment is difficult to sell secondhand. Major firms avoid buying used items, and such a large product may not fit small businesses' needs. It could be more profitable to sell the individual components like modules and power supplies separately.
Here’s the list of switches you can get for around $100 or more on eBay:
1. Classic 3-way switch – ~$50
2. Digital 4-way switch – ~$70
3. Wall switch with remote control – ~$60
4. Smart home switch (WiFi enabled) – ~$80
5. Decorative switch with LED indicator – ~$45
6. Industrial-style toggle switch – ~$55
7. Reversible 2-way switch – ~$40
8. Wall-mounted pull switch – ~$35
