I made the change from 100MB to 1000MB but ping remains high. It might not be the cable issue—check your setup and see if other factors affect performance.

speed isn't related to latency. using ethernet for gaming is always the best choice

They mentioned earlier that latency and speed differ. Could you confirm if you're directly linked to the router or if a switch introduces delay? Also, what router model and network interface card are you using?

I don't need to show off since I understand how sluggish Wi-Fi can be. Right now I'm testing 500/500 speeds with 6 to 9 ms, and according to Speedtest, it feels similar to a typical PC. If you're familiar with it, you won't even notice the difference.

When discussing game ping, the speed of your internet isn't the only factor. It also relies on the server's location and the routing path to that server. Sometimes the server itself might be the source of high ping.
