The only possible trigger for this behavior is connecting your Win 7 laptop SSD to the PC and copying several hundred GB of files so you wouldn’t have to re-download them. Yet somehow, everything under C:, from Program Files, to Program Files x86, and beyond, shows that icon at the bottom left when highlighted. I haven’t shared any folder with another computer, ever. Why am I seeing this? There are no other users on this machine. Did you disable services like "Server"? Can sharing function without it being enabled?
Confirmed, completed the task. Not sent anything out. Re-enabled it, which seems to reset shared folder appearances. What a strange Windows 10 behavior!
Likely because of a potential Win 10 leak or something similar. Running services unnecessarily is wasteful, even if they don’t affect any programs.
