I can attempt that command for you. It will force signing the application and request permission to run it.

This seems like a common scenario during software setup. You might need to navigate to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and confirm the installation permissions. In the Privacy & Security settings, check if the options are configured for downloading apps from the App Store exclusively or also allowing apps from identified developers.

Tried it, didn't work unfortunately. But I found "a solution" and it's driving me crazy... after watching a video from someone with the same issue I did the same thing and it works... for no apparent reason. I downloaded the same files from another Intel Mac, I have an old 2015 MacBook Pro, Once downloaded, I sent the file with airdrop to the M1 MacBook Air, and it just works... here's the video : Apparently the dowloaded app from the M1 Mac is not the latest version for whatever reason, but from an Intel Mac, it is ... it's mind boggling !!! I suppose it would be the same if downloaded from a PC...

Based on previous attempts, the issue usually lies with a dependency rather than the program itself. Would you like me to run the app from the terminal? If it fails, I’ll make it executable with `chmod u+x pathasabove` and then try again. This is why I prefer using Homebrew—it handles the setup on your machine.

It's not one of these situations, actually. I added other non-App Store apps such as VLC, PIA, Spotify, Atom, and enabled installations from identified developers. The problem is it shows the message right away on the first click. I discovered a fix—check my reply for details. Thanks!

I saw this advice on the Apple support forum. It helped me try something else that functioned better. On some apps with M1 Macs, downloading changes the version and causes issues, but using a different Intel system resolved the problem. Thanks for the tip!
