GTA V is still on hold, now slated for April 14. I’m checking if my setup will handle it smoothly at launch. My system includes an Intel Core i5 3470 with 3.2GHz (four CPUs) and an AMD X8 FX-8350 at 4GHz (eight CPUs). The RAM is 8GB, and the OS runs Windows 8.1 64-bit, Windows 8 64-bit, or Windows 7 SP1. The graphics card is either a GTX 660 (2GB) or an AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2GB), and there’s free disk space of about 65GB. My PC also has 16GB A-DATA RAM, Windows 8, and a 500TB WD Blue drive. On GTA IV, I managed medium/high settings at around 40/50 FPS with a graphics mod, which performed better than the highest settings on GTA IV. What are your thoughts on how well you think I’ll perform with GTA V?
The same group that improved Max Payne is now handling this project. Optimization is expected, though we shouldn’t anticipate extreme demands.
Notice, my concern is whether my friend's GPU offers a stronger CPU and provides 10-20 frames more with identical hardware. I'm hoping Rockstar fine-tunes it effectively, allowing me to enjoy high-graphics settings. At least until graphics mods are available, as modders often not only boost visuals but also optimize performance, sometimes raising FPS.
You might need to increase the CPU speeds, but I believe it should work fine at 1080p.
