purchased a rew router model ax58u featuring a usd3.0 port, paired with a 2tb drive, and configured to grant full access permissions across all devices on the network. under the current setup, each PC can view files, though copying is required every time. the main problem is that files aren't saving properly to the device, often due to insufficient space in the interface.

Open router settings → choose static IP assignment. Pick "map network drive" at the top of File Explorer under "This PC" → input the IP address you set. For detailed instructions, there are additional resources available.

You haven't configured the static IP address yet.

It could be true. The router changes the IP address every two hours by default, meaning if you didn’t set it up and that period is over, the disk needs to be re-mapped.
