I encountered a problem with my memory setup. I noticed several issues after power loss, testing each stick individually. One failed immediately while others worked fine. After removing the faulty one, running tests with 24GB resolved everything. It seems my CPU or motherboard might be the cause. I'm unsure if running all three sticks together or downgrading to two would help, or if the system will automatically use dual channels for better performance.
I've heard about the flex mode but haven't seen anyone test it thoroughly. I'd appreciate seeing someone gradually increase RAM and observe the impact on performance. In the short term, I'd like to know how crucial it is to have more than 16GB available. If you often surpass that, going to 24GB seems reasonable even if it's not perfectly balanced. Otherwise, 16GB might offer more stable performance. Try to find a replacement stick—new or used—and consider whether it should match the existing one. Ideally, it should be identical, but minor changes make it tricky to confirm.
