Hello everyone. I just installed a Ryzen 9 3900X with an MSI MPG B550 Gaming Carbon Wi-Fi. How can I turn it off so my CPU stays cooler? My setup includes: GPU, NIVIDA RTX 2070, 32 GB DDR4 memory, G.Skill Trident Z RGB, and a Corsair RMx 750W PSU. I need to keep things quiet!

I considered asking about it because I heard PBO might cause too much voltage, which could shorten the lifespan of the system—unless I have more details to understand it better. I’m sure my cooler can handle the CPU temperature well, but I want extra assurance as I’m unfamiliar with the ZEN2 CPU setup.

You can apply a negative voltage offset to the CPU, which also aids temperature control. A value of -0.050v is the best I’d choose; going lower usually reduces performance.
