After damaging my motherboard, I replaced it and rebuilt my PC. It still shut down during graphics driver installation. Windows 10 wouldn't appear in the BIOS. I attempted a Windows USB repair but it failed. I switched to a Linux install on another SSD to back up all my files. The next day I reinstalled Windows, but copying data remains problematic—Linux warns it can't transfer files. What steps should I take to recover everything?

Start on Linux, transfer files to a USB drive, then install on Windows and use it from the USB.

It's 1 terabyte of information, and my biggest USB drive is 128 gigabytes.

Use WinRAR to package the file, saving it in 1.44 MB chunks. This process may require some time.

When files exceed your 128 GB USB capacity, consider resizing the 1.44 MB chunks to better suit your storage device.

Uncertain about the name "slices." I've used a similar approach before for storing big files on CD-ROMs.

My idea: The power supply is not working properly. Your old motherboard might have failed because of it, or the boot drive could have been affected. Which PSU model are you using?

I accidentally triggered the issue. I attempted to adjust my RGB settings while the computer was running, which caused the motherboard to malfunction and prevent posting. Additionally, I was installing drivers at the same time, likely rendering Windows unbootable. I also modified the PSU because I didn’t want to take any chances with the 6900 XT.
