I understand there are websites offering affordable window keys, but I'm unsure which ones are reliable. I'm located in the Netherlands, so let me know if that's relevant for your situation.

I caution against this approach, buying from grey markets involves risk. You might receive an unapproved or recycled key. In certain situations you could get a genuine key but pay below the MSRP, which is unfair. Opt for reputable sources like Amazon or the Microsoft Store instead.

I've experienced success with Kinguin by purchasing keys and getting help from their customer service when problems arose.

You don't require a key for Windows 10. A watermark will appear on the lower right after two hours of use, and certain personalization settings in the Settings app are turned off, though they can still be adjusted elsewhere or via the registry. Beyond these changes, you can operate freely without needing a key. If you own another PC with Windows, you can also transfer the license using an MS Account. This method supports both OEM and upgraded licenses. Therefore, if you have an outdated Win7 machine you no longer need, you can reuse its license on another device.

I understand the limitations without a key, but I still create videos. A visible watermark on my screen isn’t helpful.

Yes, you can move the license from any Windows 10 PC. If your system is 7/8/8.1, you can also use the key directly on the new machine. Otherwise, you may need to install Windows 10 on the older one before transferring the license. Check the settings > Update and security > Activation to confirm eligibility. If needed, go to the activation troubleshooter on the new PC and select "I changed hardware" to view available licenses. If that doesn’t appear, insert the new drive into the old PC, boot it up, verify activation, then swap the drives back to the new one. The process may seem a bit involved but it functions correctly.
