After completing my CPU and motherboard upgrade, I've started using the trail and urgently need a Windows copy soon. I've tried contacting Microsoft support via live chat, but they didn't provide a clear response and ended the conversation after an hour of questions. Regarding your question, purchasing a G2A Windows 8 or 8.1 key and downloading the ISO should still allow you to reserve a Windows 10 copy.

You're referring to a year beginning on July 29, 2015. It seems this date might vary based on regional releases. If your country isn't included in the restricted list for that date, the timing could differ.

The release wasn’t restricted to a small number of people. Those who understood the details could access it quickly instead of waiting in long lines.

It's accurate that many people are still pending, you can't be sure he'll choose to wait. Checking forums might help him discover the installation steps for Windows 10 threads.

If you enable automatic updates for Windows 8.1 upgrades, it works effectively.
