Hey everyone, I recall a discussion about downloading just one Windows update on Windows 8 to install Windows 8.1. The goal was to avoid re-downloading all updates because Windows 8.1 already contains many of them (acting like a service pack). There was a specific update that, when downloaded, lets Windows 8.1 appear in the Store page, so you can bypass the rest. I don’t remember the exact name of that thread or where it was posted.
