I recently purchased Black Ops 2 for my PC and need to keep the graphics settings low with the smallest display possible to achieve around 20 FPS. My 10-year-old brother, who doesn’t understand the settings, often sets them to high or ultra, which causes issues. After applying the changes each time, I encounter a black screen followed by a Windows error about the program stopping. Can you help me adjust the settings so I can lower everything? I attempted to re-download it but it didn’t resolve the problem. Your PC details are available here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02628380 Would additional RAM improve performance? I could use the 8 GB sticks built into my system for this game.

Ram won't take action. I'll look into it and let you know if I discover something.

We don’t have any extra graphics cards besides the built-in one, which is the primary issue

Typically, games include a .ini file in the installation directory to store configuration adjustments. You might locate this file and modify its contents.

Checked the logs, it looks like the visual settings should refresh now. Let me know if you need further help.

You should have an INI or configuration file you can right-click and modify.

You should consider a better GPU such as GTX 750, Ti, RX 260X, or RX 260. These options work well with your CPU and RAM setup. The IGPU is fine, but the PSU upgrade isn’t necessary if you’re okay with the current power supply.

The built-in graphics are limiting your performance, consider upgrading to an R7 360x or a 750Ti.

The situation is quite challenging. Your CPU is quite power-hungry and your power source isn’t strong enough. Most new video cards today need a 6 or 8-pin connector, which isn’t always available with the power supply you have. It’s unlikely you’ll find a 250-watt unit that includes both the necessary wires. You might need an adapter, but it could be risky since you’d likely run out of spare MOLEX cables. Plus, there are hidden costs when buying from HP.

The essential spec is a GT8800. A new r7 260x under $100 would work well, or a 750ti could be a more efficient option. Regarding the CPU, I’m not sure if it’s a concern.
