I've assembled a PC, but the optical drive isn't connecting properly (incorrect type). I need to get it working, but I only have a Windows 7 disk. Can you move the data to a USB stick and share a guide? Thanks!

Locate the appropriate MSDN ISO for Windows, then purchase an 8+ Gb flash drive. Utilize the Microsoft USB/DVD Download tool without needing additional guidance. Restart from the drive, choosing USB as the boot method in BIOS, and proceed with OS installation using the provided key.

There are two approaches: First, transfer the Windows 7 ISO to a USB stick and create a bootable device using software that supports this. Second, detach the optical drive from one computer in your home or from a friend, connect it to your system, and install Windows. If your setup lacks an optical port, simply insert the drive inside the computer, ensuring it’s aligned properly. After installation, remove the drive and return it to its original location. In either scenario, you’ll need another machine with an optical drive. If you don’t have one, consider purchasing a USB optical drive or an internal drive for temporary use. Method 1: Obtain a USB flash drive with at least 8GB storage. Method 2: Plug the optical drive into another computer and follow the installation steps provided by the manufacturer.

Look for someone nearby who has an external CD/DVD drive that functions as well.
