I was checking a live stream and someone talked about a tool that lets you stay in the game by pressing alt + tab, so you can switch monitors smoothly without restarting. Any guidance on locating this would be greatly useful. Thanks!

You don’t require special programs; just enable windowed mode in full screen, and it should function properly.

DisplayFusion offers this feature. Performance varies across certain games. ActualMultipleMonitors seems to perform slightly better.

Borderless Fullscreen is the option you need. Some titles don’t include it by default, so you may need to check https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming for details.
