I own a Rog gl503ge. My issue is random freezing. I'm using Windows 10 Home 21H1. The CPU stays at around 50°C even when idle. Intel says undervolting at 1,225V improves performance and cooling, but my laptop's firmware is 318 and it blocks any changes. I know some people updated their firmware from version 307 to unlock these adjustments—any links would be a huge help.

Did Asus stop providing support for that device? If the processor is overheating, it might only require a cleanup and hardware replacement. Note: Are you asking about the firmware or BIOS?

Thank you for your quick reply. I’m having trouble locating details from ASUS regarding the notebook’s discontinuation. Yes, when talking about firmware, it refers to the BIOS.

I searched Asus' website for the machine, but it seems it's no longer available. If you're the original owner, you might still have access to support resources for BIOS updates.

The Asus support site no longer accepts the GL503GE model, and it has only been around for about three years.

I've noticed many of their ROG models face freezing problems. They didn't address these issues before. It's surprising how no fix exists. Can we possibly install another system's BIOS? For instance, the one with version 307 you mentioned? https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/BIOS/A...-307.shtml EDIT: the laptop using this BIOS is the ROG GL503VD

There it is, choose the system then pick the OS. The latest BIOS info is available on Asus's website. The top choice is recommended—check this discussion. You might also consider a modification or use the BIOS mentioned in this thread. Good luck! https://depayse20.rssing.com/chan-109339...-live.html

Check if using a bios from another model, like GL503VD, works with your GL503GE. It depends on compatibility.

I understand. This won't function with another model.
