Hi, I remember being advised to use Microsoft Server for my quad-core system. I was seeking a way to obtain Microsoft Server 2016 at no cost, much like the free Windows 10 release. I recall they provide a trial version lasting 180 days, but I wanted something more lasting than that period. Let me know if you need further help!

Purchase it now. We won’t discuss methods for stealing intellectual property.

You can obtain Windows Hyper-V Server 2016 at no cost (reference link), but be aware it functions as a hypervisor. Beyond that, there’s likely no legal path to free access unless you’re part of an organization that offers licenses to its staff. Edited January 26, 2018 by Guest

They aim to earn revenue from corporate clients by charging a fee. There’s a 180-day test period followed by a paid subscription. If you want to obtain the installation ISO file, visit their site—though using unauthorized methods is against the law.

I do not believe there is a free upgrade or any free version of Windows Server, so you'll have to buy it.

Windows 2012 also needs to work with four physical processors. You can get trial versions (which include some Windows 2016 features) from this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcent...er-2012-r2. I believe the trial versions stop working after an hour, so they aren't suitable for live servers.

Avoid any confusion between unauthorized copies and theft. There is nothing being taken here.
