You could play games at 120fps with this setup if you upgrade the RAM to 16GB single channel.

It depends on the game, but you must switch to dual channel for a noticeable boost in memory performance here.

It remains a single-channel memory setup, and performance won't shift significantly unless you include background applications. For gaming, a good balance is 2x8GB of DDR4 at 3200/3600 MHz.

Including a second matching 8 gig stick for dual channel would provide a noticeable boost compared to a single 16 gig stick. It supports streaming at 76 FPS, and you might easily reach over 1000 FPS with titles like Quake III or Unreal Tournament.

Ray tracing available or not? System needs at least 8 gig of RAM. Consider upgrading to a second 8 gig stick that fits your existing memory and use dual-channel mode for better performance. This setup will outperform a single 16 gig stick.

Check the medium ray tracing configuration, estimate the extra frames per second after upgrading from 8GB to 16GB dual-channel. For RAM, look for a Samsung DDR4 GSKILL low profile option.

The articles suggest minimal variation between single and dual channel setups for gaming. A high-speed 16GB RAM stick would likely provide a solid improvement. Your Ryzen 2600 can handle speeds up to 2933 MHz.

Gaming performance is consistently tied to GPU capabilities. Upgrading CPU or RAM won't help much. Running RT requires a 3080 or higher to sustain over 120fps. Your 2070 is the main constraint—similar frame rates appear on your 2060 Super, and you have a 5900X with 48GB RAM.
