I'm pretty new to PC gaming but I've been playing on an RX580 8Gb prebuilt and a 1440p 165hz Acer Freesync monitor. I play halo MCC and it has always run flawlessly on my Acer. I never messed with many of the settings except that I capped my framerate at 120fps in-game to keep them consistent. I recently bought a BenQ Zowie XL2546K 1080p DyaC+ monitor. It's 240hz 1080p and I'm having problems getting the game to not run like absolute crap. In my tests I get anywhere from 170-380fps in Halo so for the time being I have the refresh rate locked to 120hz, just so I have some sort of baseline to work with. I installed RTSS & Afterburner which says my GPU runs at around 50-68 C, 99% GPU utilization, my CPU at about 20-30% usage. My frametime stays around 5ms. To my understanding this is all good. Radeon settings rates my performance as either "excellent" or "outstanding" (I forget what the exact word they use is). I have tried limiting my FPS in RTSS to 120, 125, 117, and 115, you know just variations of numbers that are close to my refresh rate, with the in-game limiter set to unlimited and it doesn't help at all. I get constant microstuttering and sometimes horizontal screen tearing. Turning on Vsync doesnt fix the problem. I switched back to my 1440p Acer monitor and tried it but I decided to disable freesync. Yup, same problem there as well. So I am wondering is this a software problem? Does anyone please have any advice to help me get this working? In the time being I have been using the BenQ monitor with my Series X but I would rather be playing on my PC. Also, I downloaded Halo on my dad's Asus PC that has an Nvidia GTX970 and plugged my Benq into it and it has the same issues as well, but I have't yet tried downloading RTSS to mess around with the settings.

It seems the GPU is having trouble matching the monitor performance, possibly needing some adjustments for smoother operation. From what I've observed during repairs, it often experiences big drops before recovering. Some titles might also trigger problems. Have you experimented with different games?

I haven't explored different titles, I focus mainly on MCC. A solid alternative could be trying something like Minecraft or Valorant for variety. If you're curious about Fortnite, it's free to play and a great way to experience the game.

Fortnite likely offers good visibility due to its high FPS nature. CS:GO is also a solid indicator.

Sure, I'll proceed with downloading CSGO and let you know once it's done.

It loaded extremely quickly. CSGO works perfectly without any adjustments. Note: Ignore this update. Ongoing problems remain.

You're experiencing minor stuttering during screen transitions, especially while exploring, but the overall display remains stable.

I limited my FPS to 119 in RTSS and the refresh rate remains at 120Hz still. Still, the issue persists, though it’s less severe than in Halo.

I just wanted to note that I discovered a solution which seems effective based on this guide: https://blurbusters.com/howto-low-lag-vsync-on/ Now the game runs smoothly and I can use DyaC+. Thanks for your assistance, Shimejii.
