I purchased this motherboard claiming it supports DDR4, but when I attempt to install it, it doesn’t fit or display properly. Am I being foolish?

The notch on the DIMM needs to match the ridge in the slot when viewed differently. That’s why I didn’t notice the second notch in PC133 and FPM DIMMs. DDR4’s notch is positioned more accurately.

I understand, the alternative approach didn't work either.

End of the notch center - DDR2 - 70.68 mm DDR3 - 54.68 mm DDR4 - 71.6 mm DDR1 RAM holds 184 pins. DDR2 RAM uses 240 pins, DDR3 also has 240 pins, DDR4 requires 288 pins.

Absolutely, you're sure it wasn't the intended update?

It's understandable you felt confused about the ASUS P D4 versions. You mentioned ordering just the P model, but it seems there are two options available. That must be on your part. Thanks for reaching out and letting me know!
