Your system setup is solid—AMD FX 6300 with a cooled CM 212 EVO, Sapphire R9 280, and other components are well-equipped. You can push performance to higher settings while maintaining smooth operation, especially with the right balance of cooling and power. As for the download speed, 1.5 MBPS is achievable but may require a stable internet connection and some optimization settings.
Alright, yeah hopefully by the time its out other companies open internet services accessible from here.
1.5 MB or 1.5 Mb? (pay attention to the small B). Where did you check its speed, Speedtest.net or is this during a download from Steam?
He received about 1.5MB/s internet, which translates to roughly 150Kb/s—probably insufficient. I used to experience issues with a 2MB/s connection.
^ Note that and for the others, I tried WOW on Dial Up. It functioned, though in Orgrimmar it either took 300ms or was completely dead. So stop the nonsense about needing 10000000Mb internet to play online. Bye!
I don't really understand how Star Citizen will perform in that situation. I've played other titles on a slower connection. Once you're inside the game, lag and lost packets are the main factors influencing your play, so a stable 1.5 Mb/s connection should be fine. The main issue will be downloading the client itself. Arena Commander already takes up at least 20 GB, and that number will likely keep rising. Regarding frame rates, your system should handle 1080p at medium or high settings reasonably well. Your CPU is likely to be the slower component compared to your graphics card in Star Citizen.
