So recently, I built a new PC and started playing Minecraft with Optifine. While setting things up, I figured out that I needed Java installed on the machine. After trying to get it running, an error appeared: "An error has occurred in the script on this page. Line: 1 Char: 1 Error: Expected ')' Code:0". The message said something about continuing scripts even though there was nothing at all. I looked around and tried many things that didn't work well. None of these steps fixed it for me. - I don't use special symbols in my username. - Java isn't installed yet. - I tried the offline version. - I moved a folder with Java from another computer to mine, but nothing changed. - I checked both 32 bit and non-32 bit versions. - I ran Command Prompt as an admin, which stopped it for me. - I turned off third-party extensions. - I turned off my firewall too. Now when the download starts, the window closes right away or after just one second. I'm really stuck on this and don't know what else to try. Could someone please help? EDIT: It turns out my account is an admin, but I tried using a different admin ID, and the download worked fine with that one. When I switched back to my original main account, it looks like Java isn't there anymore or something happened when I changed accounts.

I believe Minecraft works with its very own version of Java, so why did you download that one? Where are you getting OpenJDK 15 from?
