The game has received funding and isn’t your usual price point. To join the beta or get access to the necessary ship, you’ll need to spend $45 or more based on what you purchase. Running it at "Ultra" settings isn’t possible right now—it’s quite intensive, even for simple modes like dog fighting. For medium performance, just a CPU like Core i5-4670/AMD A10-7850k paired with GTX 780Ti/R9-290 will suffice.
Wow, I hadn't noticed this site before. It certainly simplifies things for newcomers.
I've been playing this game for ages, is the $45 worth it just to peek? Can my worn-out i7 and gtx760 handle this beast?
This is people playing in the hangar module or the Arena Commander. Not the full game. The full game will cover a MUCH larger area, which means more details for the GPU/CPU to manage not to include more overhead for additional players. I would suggest that the game will become about 30% or so more demanding by launch.
