Back then I relied on Z77 with Windows 7. I didn’t worry much about all these details. I simply used the DVD that came with the Mobo and installed the drivers through it. It might even be quite old now. Four years ago, I assembled an AMD system. Their chipset drivers are straightforward—just visit their website, download one file, and install it. Now I’m preparing a new Intel setup using a Z590 board. On ASUS’s site, there are many different chipset driver options... which one should I choose? The main concern is whether I really need to install the chipset driver for Intel. Also, I want to note that I’m running a 10900K on the Z590 Mobo, not the latest generation. My choice of 10th instead of 11th on the Z590 has a long backstory... I won’t go into it. Lastly, should I update the BIOS as well? The description suggests all recent updates are tied to the 11th Gen.

I'd suggest looking up the latest driver versions on Google for stability information.

The information on the Chipset section appears to differ between sources. For the Maximus XIII board, Intel provides two references: one about the Intel Management Engine, which seems related to security features, and another about the Chipset Software Installation Utility from ASUS. It's unclear if these are the same component or if they refer to different versions. The PCIE 4.0 support is noted as being handled by the CPU rather than the chipset, unlike AMD's X570. Additional details were found on Intel's official site, though it doesn't list the Z590 chipset directly. The latest available driver seems to be from Intel's own download page.
