You'll only realize its functionality when you attempt to use it. Activating Windows with it will either succeed or fail.

No method exists to verify a Windows product key's authenticity prior to installation. If purchased from a trustworthy seller, you should be safe.

Open Windows 10 and tap the start button, select the gear icon for settings, then navigate to Update and Security. On the left side, find the activation tab. Clicking it will show whether Windows is activated or not.
