I have an ASUS B350 board with a Ryzen 1600 processor and an 8GB 2400MHz single RAM stick. I need to upgrade my memory. I’m considering adding more RAM so it can work in dual channel mode. In the future, I’ll likely need even more and faster RAM. With the remaining two slots, I plan to install a 16GB single stick first, then another 16GB later. My questions are: 1. Can I use two 8GB sticks plus one 16GB stick (faster) in dual channel? 2. Should I use two 8GB sticks at 2400MHz and two 16GB sticks at 3200MHz? 3. Is it possible to pair two 8GB sticks (2400MHz) with two 16GB sticks (3200MHz)? Some sources suggest that combining two identical sticks plus one larger stick can work well for performance. I read about this on a blog link you mentioned. What’s the best setup?

You might want more RAM because it can boost performance, especially if you're using a gaming PC. Instead of buying a large amount of memory, consider swapping in a higher-capacity kit to get better speeds without overkill.

Supports compatibility mode, though RAM compatibility is already uncertain on Zen 1. 4. Functions in dual channel at reduced speeds unless adjusted manually. Best approach: pair two 16GB drives and discard the 8GB ones or repurpose them.

Aim for consistent performance rather than varying memory speeds. On older Ryzen models, it’s unlikely to fill all four dimming slots quickly with fast RAM.
